General Rules
* While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.
* Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such.
* Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.
* Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum, email, visitor messages, blog comments, picture comments and private message systems to spam other members.
* Please wait a reasonable amount of time before bumping posts. For style changes and general 'how-to' questions this should be 24 hours. For specific troubleshooting issues, use 12 hours as a guideline.
* We also do not allow posts or links to sites that are sexual in nature or violate community standards. The moderators shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards.
* Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.
* While we are quite happy to have constructive comparative conversations about competitor's products, we will not tolerate blatant adverts or the sort of 'ooh look, yet another flash game' threads. Also, we would appreciate it if you refrain from blatant bashing of other games.
* We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice. Any post may be removed, edited, moved or closed for any reason.
* If you are going to post non-English on these forums, please also post an English Translation of your post.
* Posts arguing about policies are not allowed.
* Posts discussing moderator actions are also not allowed.
* Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.
* You cannot post any affiliate or referral links, or post anything asking for a referral. Such posts will be subject to removal.
* We also reserve the right to ban anyone who wilfully violates the forum rules, as access to our forums are a privilege and not a right.
By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
Advertising Services and Solicitation
We do not allow people to post threads or to send private messages or emails to users here that advertise or solicit any products, services, funds or donations. Explicit advertising and solicitating in signatures is also prohibited.
You should never give out your password to anyone. We can not take responsibility if you disclose this information to anyone else.
Swearing Enforcement
Rule of thumb: "If you hear it on daytime television, it can fly."
This means "damn" "crap" and various other swears we learn from the television at an early age are appropriate in moderation. "Ass" is starting to push it, and will be frowned upon (excessive use will still get you banned.) Anything worse is a ban.
Addendum by Nightshade:
In addition to swearing, chat messages that are offensive or disruptive to other players are not permitted. This includes, but is not limited to:
* Removing letters, or using numbers or symbols in a word to disguise it in an attempt to avoid the chat filter
* Using race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, handicap or gender as a means of insult
* Using threatening, harassing, defamatory or hate related language
* Using sexually explicit, vulgar or profane language or abbreviations of such
* Providing links to websites that are pornographic, obscene or offensive
* Impersonating another player via chat
* Spamming or flooding the chat with repetitive letters, words or messages
* Repetitive use of all capitals
* Discussion of illegal activities and messages that violate or provoke others to violate the law
* Flaming, trolling or provoking others to respond with "flames"
Just because a word has a separate non-swear meaning does not mean you're free to use it. Mods have the final word on how they are used in context.
Violation of these rules will result in a warning, kick, temporary ban or permanent ban depending on the severity of the violation. Repeated violations regardless of the severity will result in a permanent ban.
Moderation
The moderators and administrators are here to ensure that the chat and forum rules are enforced. Publically disrespecting or attempting to argue with a moderator or administrator in chat or on the public forum will not be tolerated.
If you have a problem with moderation, or a complaint about a ban or moderator, please open a post in the support forum or send a PM to the administrator (magnusi or blueforce or Ancientgods), or any of the moderators.
Although the administrators and moderators of the forum will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages.
Account Ownership
Any user creating an account remains responsible for that account throughout its life cycle. Players should retain or remember their password upon account creation. Users who choose to give this password out do so at their own risk. Staff cannot be responsible for items lost or taken.
Players are NOT allowed to sell their account for either:
Real world currency
Virtual currency
What this means: A user no longer wishing to retain their account can simply abandon it or share their password with another user while remaining under the impression that the state of their account cannot be insured nor restored by staff should the user decide to return at a later time and date. Users found attempting to sell their accounts for either real world currency or virtual currency may be warned or banned without notice. Simply put, do not attempt this practice.
In-Game Conduct
Rule of thumb: "Don't be a jerk."
This is a generality for a reason. If we list out all the different ways a person could potentially be a jerk, others will just do something thats not on the list and we'll eventually have to add it in. That said, here is a shortlist of things:
Don't harass other players in any way, shape or form. Being nice is cool.
Don't spam the chat with anything. We all saw it the first time. Let some time pass before announcing again.
Don't speak in all caps frequently. One time b/c you're mad? Ok. Multiple times? No.
Don't impersonate moderators, game staff, or anyone else for that matter.
Do be a helpful, upstanding member of the community.
Do answer questions from new people, they may grow up to be awesome members.
Do speak to others in a courteous and respectful manner, like you would prefer to be spoken to yourself.
